Introduction

IMPORTANT NOTES, READ BEFORE INSTALLATION

- Never unscrew the banjo bolts on the hoses to reorient them

- Do not bend the hoses at a 90° angle

- Do not route the hoses near a place where it can be pinched or damaged

- Do not route the hoses near extreme heat-generating parts (ie: exhaust)

- Do not over tighten the metal collars on the reservoir (torque to 6 lb.in)

- Make sure reservoir stays clear of any moving parts (ie: swingarm, chain)

- Hoses must be secured to the frame using zip ties to avoid contact with moving parts

- Make sure that the shock bolts and metal collars are tightened properly before riding

  1. Lift the vehicle off the ground with a jack or on a stand. Remove the seat and rear section of the airbox. Remove the stock shock absorber from the vehicle.

  2. Insert the Elka shock absorbers from above, lowering it below the shock mount to insert the remote reservoir. The banjo bolt must face towards the rear of the vehicle with the hose coming out on the left side. The rebound adjuster located at the bottom of the shock should face the right of the quad. The bottom fork of the shock can be turned 180° clockwise if needed.
    • Insert the Elka shock absorbers from above, lowering it below the shock mount to insert the remote reservoir. The banjo bolt must face towards the rear of the vehicle with the hose coming out on the left side. The rebound adjuster located at the bottom of the shock should face the right of the quad.

    • The bottom fork of the shock can be turned 180° clockwise if needed.

  3. Route the reservoir’s hose above the small airbox chamber, pulling out the reservoir through the left side of the rear subframe. Attach the shock to the upper mount using the stock bolts. Route the reservoir’s hose above the small airbox chamber, pulling out the reservoir through the left side of the rear subframe. Attach the shock to the upper mount using the stock bolts.
    • Route the reservoir’s hose above the small airbox chamber, pulling out the reservoir through the left side of the rear subframe. Attach the shock to the upper mount using the stock bolts.

  4. Install the provided rubber mounts on the left side of the rear subframe with the tab on top.
    • Install the provided rubber mounts on the left side of the rear subframe with the tab on top.

  5. Attach the reservoir over the mounts using the provided collars. Torque to 6 lb.in., making sure the collars are not bent over the subframe, which could cause them to fail. Attach the shock to the lower mount and linkage. Re-install the airbox and seat.

    • Installation is complete.

  6. Lift the vehicle off the ground with a jack or on a stand. Remove the stock shock absorbers from the vehicle (refer to the manufacturer’s documentation).

    • Install the Elka shock absorbers with the piggyback reservoirs towards the top with the adjustment knobs towards the sides.

    • Installation is complete.

    • Refer to the Elka owner’s manual to set the ride height and for adjustment procédures.
